WAKEBOARDING Magazine just released a special “Wakesurfer” edition focused on the popular and growing sport of wakesurfing. Inside, the editors chose 16 different boats that it deemed “Worthy Vessels” for wakesurfing. Yamaha's new 2016 242X was the only jet powered boat that made the cut.
The editors noted the strength of the 1400 lbs of ballast in making a wake that "surfed really well." They went on to note that Yamaha's exclusive articulating keel enabled the boat to "keep the line you drive steady and smooth."
Regarding Yamaha's award winning Connext helm control system, the magazine stated, “What blew us away the most after getting into the 242X was the helm. This thing was probably one of the most comfortable set ups we’ve been in, and it had all the bells and whistles you could want.”
